Sigh .... it doesn't pay to be a helpful sometimes.

The 2 times I lend money to friends that I haven't known for a long time are the 2 times I get played out.

To make a long story short, I just found out that a friend I had helped pay some bills for has disappeared. Tried calling his mobile and its been terminated. When I call around, I find out that he has used different names in different cities and has chalked up a reputation of taking from one person to repay another person.

He's supposed to be an expat in BKK and didn't have a DBS account so I was just helping a fellow expat out coz I know how much of a bitch it is to get some transfers sorted out to another DBS account holder.

If I really wanted to, I could call in favours to find out where he works and pursue this. But its not good karma.

Kindness shud beget kindness.

Oh well ... just reminds me not to be so trusting of new people I meet in future.
