A friend introduced this to me since I've been getting hooked on twitter.
Its an application that combines Facebook updates with your Twitter ones with the ability to filter and display specific searches all at one glance.
Recommended for anyone who tweets and checks facebook updates regularly. This one does it all for u in one screen without you needing to hit the refresh button.

Its quite interesting to read an "insider's" perspective on Parliament sittings.
5 bloggers became Members of Parliament after the recent elections in Malaysia. Given their busy schedules and 1000 things fighting for their time ... they have not blogged less as a result. In fact, they've been very fastidious about their posts.
There's a blog-by-blog account of things happening and issues arising with comments flooding in from their readers.
It almost feels like the people can have their voices heard in parliament through these bloggers.
I'm also surprised how Facebook is being leveraged for this as well! You can share a politician's blog entry in your profile!!!

Wat can I say ... ever since Facebook enabled people to chat with their friends .... the whole online paradigm has shifted!
I spent last nite chatting with people I hadn't spoken to in ages ... people i don't normally talk to .... people i've never spoken to before.
The possibilities of how this connects people is amazing! WOW!

So i logged into Facebook today and I was pleasantly surprised by this new features.
At the bottom right of the browser, you'll see icons that show your status (like in chat programmes), the latest things that your frens have done with/to you on Facebook and a list of frens who are online.
Apparently you can chat with those who are online!
What took me by surprise was the almost real-time updates of events. As I was facebooking ... i got a notice that someone accepted my friend's request 2 mins ago ... that's like ... WOW!
Imagine the possibilities of connecting people even more than they already are!!!!

Bryan had a little incident with his Facebook being "hijacked".
It seems someone managed to log into his Facebook, wrote on many of his frens' walls and did facebook things to his frens.
He saw all kinds of actions in his mini-feed that he hadn't done. He even got an SMS from fren who asked him about a Wall post.
Its very disturbing to know that something like this can happen. So many questions are popping up in my head now:
- who is this person?
- how did he/she get bryan's password?
- can he/she do it for just facebook or any site?
- what would be the person's motive for hijacking someone's facebook?
!!???
I suggested he change his password to something more difficult. If this person still insisted on hijacking his account to spam people, I told my brother, he should lodge a report with Facebook and maybe delete / recreate his account.
After telling him that, I went and changed my password. I guess we really need to take security on the internet a little more seriously since we spend so much of our time here.
I used to roll my eyes when I heard about company security policies that made you change your password every month. Now i'm thinking maybe we do need to be a little more paranoid about passwords and things online.

a couple of frens have been complaining about the number of emails they get fr facebook so here's a quick tip for those who have the same problem
on the left of ur profile next to the Applications header, click on the "edit" link

next to each application, click on each "edit settings link"

untick "allow this application to contact me by email"

u can also untick any of the other options so ur facebook profile doesn't have too any links and things appearing
:-)
